Graceful Trees of the Everglades
After hurricane Irma, there was some damage to the trees in the Everglades. But the recovery has been happening fast. Looking at different areas, we can “see” how the winds were blowing and their strength because of the path they left behind.
I notice that a lot of the trees were protected from damage apparently because of the palmetto bushes that shielded them at the base, as you can see here.
Some others were in fields that had been cleaned before and were not so lucky.
This fallen tree is an example. It is one of the native trees: long leaf pine. They are graceful when standing and also when they have fallen. Notice the arcs of the branches. Nice!
As a contrast, let me bring back the photo of the dancing tree!
Soon I will start painting these two friends.
